How I Actually Eat

I eat high protein most days, and this page is the honest version of what that actually looks like: what's in my kitchen on repeat, what I've gotten sick of, and why I bother counting grams at all. There's no plan to buy here and no 30-day challenge, just the food I actually cook.

Why I eat this way

[TODO: Replace this paragraph with your real story. When did you start eating this way, and what prompted it? A goal, a doctor's note, plain curiosity, something else. Be specific about what changed once you did. "I felt better" is vague. "I stopped crashing at 3pm" is a sentence a reader actually believes.]

I'm not a dietitian, and I don't have a nutrition science background. What I have is [TODO: how many years] of cooking this way most days, weighing food more often than I'd like to admit, and figuring out through trial and error what actually holds up on a busy weeknight.

A normal day

Here's roughly what a day looks like right now. It moves around, but this is close to the average.

  • Breakfast: [TODO: what you actually eat, roughly how much protein]
  • Lunch: [TODO]
  • Dinner: [TODO]
  • Snacks: [TODO]

Total protein on a normal day lands around [TODO: number]g. [TODO: note how this shifts on training days, busy days, or weekends, if it does]

What's always in my kitchen

A handful of ingredients do most of the work, week after week. Right now that list looks like:

  • [TODO: staple 1]
  • [TODO: staple 2]
  • [TODO: staple 3]
  • [TODO: staple 4]
  • [TODO: staple 5]

I eat plenty of other things too. These are just the ones on repeat.

What got boring

[TODO: Name something specific you got sick of and dropped, or a swap you made and why. This is the section readers trust most, because it's the one part nobody can fake secondhand.]

Where I still get it wrong

[TODO: A real, specific admission. A week you didn't hit your numbers and why. A shortcut you use that isn't perfect but is honest about the tradeoff. A dish that's fine, not great, but stays in rotation because it's fast on a Tuesday.]

How I think about the numbers

My daily protein target is around [TODO: number]g, based on [TODO: how you landed on that number: bodyweight, a coach, a guideline you follow] . I don't hit it every day, and I've stopped trying to be perfect about it. [TODO: your actual take on close-enough vs. exact]

Every recipe on this site lists calories and protein per serving, calculated against real ingredient data rather than guessed. If a number here ever looks off, tell me. I'd rather fix it than have it sit there wrong.

What this site is (and isn't)

This is a cooking site, not a medical one. I'm not a doctor or a registered dietitian, and nothing here is meant to diagnose, treat, or replace advice from your own doctor. If you have a health condition that protein intake affects, talk to someone qualified to advise you on it directly.

What you'll find here is recipes with the protein and calories counted out honestly, and meal ideas that don't require a shopping list of powders and blends. I won't promise you a number on a scale, sell you a supplement stack, or make a health claim I can't back up.

If you want to see what this actually looks like on a plate, [TODO: link a specific recipe once one exists]. For now, the recipe archive is the fastest way in.
